Dr. Durrell Jamerson-Barnes
"Durrell is passionate about empowering his community and opening doors to opportunities, that for many of us, once felt inaccessible. He is driven by a commitment to excellence and a desire to see his people succeed, feel fulfilled, and pursue their passions with confidence. Through The Consortium, he provides the tools and support they need to bring their ideas to life, explore new opportunities, and thrive in ways not imagined."
What if education produced builders, not just graduates? In 9 weeks, 23 boys in junior high from Matchbook Learning and 10 high school boys from Ben Davis HS were mentored upward through Marian University’s TAs and a professor, while Code Black Indy transformed their college lessons into practice—culminating in the Industrial Mentor app, designed to give inner-city youth direct access to industry leaders in 12 industries. The result isn’t a program; it’s The Multidimensional Leadership Pipeline.
The Consortium partners with traditional and charter schools, businesses, nonprofits, and IHEs to prepare learners from marginalized communities for success in college, trade schools, or careers. Learners gain real-world skills like financial literacy, conflict resolution, resume building, and career planning to tackle challenges and create clear pathways to success.
Through strategic partnerships, our programs and courses provide apprenticeships, internships, and hands-on experiences that ensure learners will secure jobs, build networks, and apply actionable solutions to improve their communities and futures.
